ACP Ankur Vihar Bhaskar Verma said Rana's family informed the police about the suicide around 3 pm on Monday after they received the videos on WhatsApp. Based on the complaint lodged by Rana's brother, Yashpal Singh, an FIR has been registered against the accused persons under BNS Section 306 (abetment of suicide).
