NOIDA: The AOA president of Amrapali Leisure Valley in Greater Noida West was left with a fractured hand after an altercation with a resident over his car sticker escalated into a fight between the two.
Sources said Durgesh Kumar's sticker was suspended over mounting dues in maintenance fees. On Sunday morning, Durgesh was stopped at the gate over his invalid sticker and told to park his car outside the society.
AOA president Sishir Kumar was present at the gate at the time and intervened when Dugesh hurled abuses at the guards and continued to blow the car's horn.
"It was around 8.30am. My husband was schooling the guards about security guidelines and protocols when two cars stopped at the gate. One of them did not have a valid sticker. When one of the guards told the car driver he couldn't let him in without the sticker, the accused started abusing him. Pasting the society's stickers on cars is an essential security measure. We can't go lax on it," said Shubhra Singh, the AOA president's wife.
When Kumar insisted that Durgesh clear the dues and get a fresh sticker, it led to an argument between the two.
"As they were talking, the accused started assaulting my husband. He hit him in the neck and face," she said.
Neeraj Gupta, the owner of another car that had stopped at the gate, allegedly helped Durgesh in the attack. "He came from behind and grabbed my husband's hands from behind, which left him without any defence. After raining punches on him, the attacker came with a stick and hit my husband hard on the left arm, leaving it fractured," Shubhra told TOI.
According to her, both Durgesh and Neeraj are business partners and live in Leisure Valley.
"Both have not cleared their maintenance fee for several months now. Their car stickers were in use for only a month and a half. They were then made invalid over their unpaid fee," she added.
Till late on Monday evening, an FIR was yet to be registered. A senior officer at Bisrakh police station said an investigation had, however, been initiated and action would taken against the accused.
