President to visit Auroville on August 8

PUDUCHERRY: President Draupadi Murmu will visit Auroville on August 8 to participate in a series of functions to mark the 150th birth anniversary of revolutionary turned philosopher Sri Aurobindo and also to mark the 75th year of Indian Independence.
Auroville Foundation secretary Jayanti S Ravi told reporters on Friday that the President will inaugurate a plenary session in the presence of Tamil Nadu governor and Puducherry lieutenant governor, and address the gathering on August 8.
Speakers, authors, scholars from Auroville, Sri Aurobindo Society, Sri Aurobindo Ashram and various centres from India and abroad will participate in the session and share their understanding on the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo and his spiritual collaborator Mirra Alfassa, fondly revered as the Mother.
