Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSCL), which is responsible for procuring and distributing quality-tested drugs and medical equipment to govt health facilities, organised a state-level orientation and training on Supply Chain Management to enhance the efficiency and reliability of healthcare drug supply chain operations across the state.
The training programme also emphasised strengthening warehouse management operations through the use of standard operating procedures, improved storage practices, adopting quality assurance mechanisms, standard recording and reporting processes, and the use of Drug Procurement and Distribution Management Information System (DPDMIS) for improving efficiencies. Additionally, a significant portion of the training was dedicated to inventory management techniques to prevent stockouts and overstocking, preventing the expiry of drugs, said CGMSCL Managing Director Padmini Bhoi Sahu.
The CGMSCL MD addressed the participants and reiterated the corporation's commitment to transparency and efficiency in delivering lifesaving medicines to over 1,300 health facilities across the state through 16 warehouses. She highlighted the importance of continuous capacity building for warehouse personnel and keeping them updated with the latest warehouse best practices to ensure the smooth functioning of the warehouses and strengthening the overall public health supply chain.
"With the technical assistance of PATH for all Warehouse Assistant Managers and In-Charges, this initiative is a vital step towards enhancing the efficiency and reliability of healthcare drug supply chain operations across the state," she said.
Tejesh Chawda and Mayank Khede from PATH led the sessions along with active participation from CGMSCL senior officials, including GM (technical) Hiren Patel, System Manager Sukhdev Kashyap, and other key officials who facilitated the sessions and shared updates on the latest advancements in supply chain management.
