Congress leader and former deputy CM T S Singhdeo, along with his nephew Adityeshwar Sharan Singhdeo, announced their decision to donate their organs on Thursday. Singhdeo said that
organ donation is an essential responsibility towards society. He noted that in India, there is some hesitation regarding organ donation. But if a person's organs can be made available to someone in need after death, it is a significant act.
Singhdeo mentioned that during his term as health minister, he not only made institutions like ROTA (Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation) and SOTA (State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation) active but also established a tissue bank.
