Elderly man killed in sleep at home
According to Nirmal Oraon, the officer in-charge of Manatu police station, the elderly man was sleeping on the front verandah of his house when he was attacked with a sharp weapon.
The police are still investigating the motive behind the crime, and the family has requested some time before filing an official FIR. From the crime scene, the authorities have recovered a small battery torch and a piece of wood stained with blood. The post-mortem examination of the deceased will be carried out at MMCH Daltonganj.

Madhepura man kills elder brother, injures another
A man in Madhepura district shot his two elder brothers over a land dispute, leading to one brother's death and the other being critically injured. The accused, Rahul Kumar, was arrested after the incident which followed a court testimony related to the dispute. Financial difficulties and substance abuse were contributing factors.

Elderly man trampled to death by elephant in Korba
An elderly man was trampled to death by an elephant in Korba district's Chaitma forest range. This same elephant had previously killed three women in August. Forest officials are tracking and attempting to guide the elephant back into deeper forests to prevent further incidents. Immediate relief and compensation are being provided to the victim's family.
