THANE: The SIT investigating the sexual abuse of two nursery school girls in Badlapur has filed two separate charge-sheets, one for each of the two FIRs in the case, in the special Pocso court of Kalyan.

The charge-sheet for the first FIR was filed on Monday, and the second charge-sheet on Thursday.

The special investigation team (SIT) cited technical, medical and other evidence like witness statements and the confession of the accused in the two charge-sheets that together filled more than 500 pages.

The SIT plans to write to the state govt demanding the appointment of a special public prosecutor to put the case on the fast track.

In the charge-sheets, the SIT showed several school staff members, including two helpers, a teacher and the principal, as witnesses to prove the presence of the accused in the school on the day of the incident.

CCTV footage of the accused entering and leaving the main gate of the school was added as evidence.

In Aug, the sexual assault of two schoolchildren inside the school was reported. The police arrested the accused sweeper. Alleging a delay in filing the case and negligence by the police, people called a day's Badlapur bandh on Aug 20. Trains were stopped for over eight hours and the school was vandalised.

The state govt then formed an SIT led by inspector general of police Aarti Singh to investigate the incident.

The SIT filed two separate FIRs for the incidents of abuse of two girls and registered a case against the school principal, secretary and chairman for not informing the police about the incidents.

Recently the police registered another case against the accused after his former wife complained that he committed unnatural acts on her. The former wife called the accused a pervert and said he used to physically torture her. She said she left him within a few days of marriage.

Sources said the SIT cited the alleged perverted mentality of the accused in both its charge-sheets. The former wife was made a witness.
