T'puram: A day after a woman and man died in a fire incident at an insurance agency office in Pappanamcode in the state capital, police received CCTV footage to confirm the identity of the male body.
The woman was identified as office staff member Vaishna, but the police were unable to trace the male body as it was burned completely. Based on circumstantial evidence, police believe that it was of her husband Binu though it is yet to be confirmed scientifically.
Binu's presence within a 50-metre radius during the incident has been confirmed. From a CCTV footage, police found that Binu was seen going to the office carrying a bottle which might have contained inflammable liquid to kill her. "Following a heated exchange, Binu might have set Vaishna ablaze after pouring the liquid in hand over her and later died by suicide," said the police.
To get clarity on the matter, police have also sent the male body's samples for a DNA test. In the meantime, a friend of Binu told police that he had contacted him before the crime, and he told him that he was going to exact revenge. Police will also examine the call details of Binu to get clarity on what had happened inside the office.
