BJP gets lion’s share of seats in Mewar & Wagad regions
Udaipur: Out of 28 seats in Mewar and Wagad regions of Rajasthan, the BJP has won seventeen seats, the Congress has won seven seats and the newly formed Bharat Adivasi Party (BPA) has won three seats. In Udaipur district, the BJP got six seats and the Congress had to once again content with two seats.
The BJP won Udaipur, Udaipur rural, Salumbar, Vallabhnagar, Gogunda, Jhadol seats while the Congress won Kherwara and Mavli seats.

The BJP celebrated the victory of BJP's Tarachand Jain from Udaipur city seat by defeating Congress's Gaurav Vallabh. On Udaipur rural seat, BJP candidate Phool Singh Meena defeated Vivek Katara of the Congress.
BJP’s Amritlal Meena retained the Salumbar seat and defeated Congress's Raghuveer Singh. In Salumbar, Jitesh Kumar Meena of BAP secured 51,691 votes and it is believed that Congress suffered the most loss due to this. On Vallabhnagar seat in a triangular fight, BJP's Udaylal Dangi defeated Congress's sitting MLA Preeti Gajendra Singh Shaktawat.
In Rajsamand, the BJP won all the four seats. On Nathdwara seat, Congress’s CP Joshi lost to first timer Vishwaraj Singh of the BJP. In Kherwara, the Congress retained its seat where sitting MLA Dayaram Parmar won. He defeated BJP's Nanalal Ahari.

Congress candidates Phoolsingh Rathiya, Umesh Patel, Janak Dhruw, Ashish Chhabra, and Aditya Raj are leading. BJP's Kedar Kashyap is also leading. The halfway mark for the 90-member assembly is 46. The results of the assembly polls in four states are seen as a semifinal before the Lok Sabha polls. A total of 1,181 candidates contested for the 90-member assembly.
