Udaipur/Jaipur: A 69-year-old man, who had come to cast his vote at a polling booth in Udaipur, was minutes away from pressing the EVM button when he suddenly collapsed and died.
Satyendra Kumar Arora was waiting for his turn in a queue at the St. Anthony School polling booth in Hiran Magri area of Udaipur, when he fell ill. Others at the booth rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The cause of death was not immediately known. In another incident, a polling agent of a candidate died due to suspected cardiac arrest in Pali district.
Shanti Lal, whose party affiliation was not immediately known, collapsed at booth number 47 in Sumerpur constituency, and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was referred to the district hospital, but could not survive.
