Vadodara: The National Students Union of India (
NSUI) on Wednesday demanded that the Vadodara district education officer (DEO) take strict action against Yakutpura-based MES English Medium School.
NSUI student leaders submitted a memorandum at the DEO office, alleging that the school collects fees from students under the head of computer class but it does not have a proper computer lab.
“We have received a number of complaints from parents of wards enrolled in the school regarding the lack of amenities at the school,” said NSUI Vadodara unit president Amar Vaghela. He said that the school conducts interviews of students from class 1 to class 12 before granting admission. “There are serious concerns over the eligibility of teachers who are roped in by the school for teaching the kids. Similarly, the school has been running more classes than the number of classes for which it has received permission from the DEO office,” he said.
“When the DEO office has provided permission to run one section in a particular standard, the school runs two-three sections,” he said. The student outfit has threatened to launch a mega stir if the DEO office does not intervene.
