Vadodara: The owner of Ladla Jewellers in the walled city couldn’t believe his eyes when he opened his shop on Wednesday morning.
The locker that was kept in the shop for storing the jewellery was missing. Burglars broke into the shop on Mandvi Road and departed with the entire safe locker late on Tuesday night.
A police complaint was filed at the City police station on Wednesday.
The complainant stated that the burglars first broke open the lock of the shop's front door and entered inside. They took the safe locker containing silver idols and cash worth Rs 2 lakh.
The cops said that they are checking CCTV footage of the area to get a clue about the burglars. The incident has once again raised questions about the night patrolling of the police.
Burglaries are reported regularly from different areas of the city. Many videos of armed burglars walking around in the residential colonies have also been recorded by the CCTVs.
