Forest officials in Southern Bengaluru rescued a Makhna elephant involved in recent human-animal conflicts near Bannerghatta National Park. The operation, led by DCF Prabhakar Priyadarshi, involved 100 personnel and eight trained elephants. After sedating the elephant, it was relocated to Seegekatte elephant camp. Efforts are ongoing to capture and radio-collar another elephant, the Koli jumbo.

From Uttarakhand village to Paris: Paramjeet Singh's long walk to Olympic glory
Paramjeet Singh Bisht, from Khalla village in Uttarakhand, will represent India in the men's 20km race walk at the Paris Olympics. Despite ridicule from villagers during training, Bisht persisted and excelled, supported by his PT teacher who discovered his talent in school. Bisht is now a national record holder and a Navy recruit under the sports quota.
