Vijayawada: The state govt has resolved to harness the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline the sand booking process, curb illegal mining, and prevent unauthorized transportation. AI-powered tools will enable the government to identify and prevent multiple bookings by the same individual or realtor. Furthermore, these advanced technologies will expedite the screening of documents submitted by customers, facilitating faster access to sand stocks.
The state government has unveiled a new set of guidelines for the sand policy, aimed at enhancing supply and streamlining transactions.
The revised guidelines prioritize technology integration, user-friendliness, transparency, and accessibility.
“We are committed to regulating the unrestricted discretion in transportation charges. District collectors have been instructed to implement effective measures for efficient management of stock yards/reaches and establish a robust vigilance mechanism,” said Mukesh Kumar Meena, principal secretary (mines). He emphasized that AI will be leveraged to further enhance the ease of sand booking for consumers while curbing any potential for illegal hoarding, mining, or transportation.
