IPL 2022: Full list of players retained by the eight franchises

NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma will continue to don RCB, CSK and MI jerseys respectively as the BCCI revealed the list of 27 players, who have been retained by the existing eight franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL), on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming mega-auction for the 2022 edition.

NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma will continue to don RCB, CSK and MI jerseys respectively as the BCCI revealed the list of 27 players, who have been retained by the existing eight franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL), on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming mega-auction for the 2022 edition.

With a total salary cap of Rs 90 crore available at the mega auction for each team, the eight franchises were eligible to retain up to four players with a maximum of three Indians, two overseas players and two uncapped Indians.

Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians opted to retain four players each. Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained three players each while Punjab Kings have retained two. Therefore, Punjab have the highest salary purse available with Rs 72 crore. Of the 27 retained players, 8 are overseas and 4 are uncapped Indians.

Here's the complete list of retained players:
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (Rs 15 cr), Glenn Maxwell (Rs 11 cr) and Mohammed Siraj (Rs 7cr). Purse remaining for RCB: Rs 57 crores.
Mumbai Indians: Rohit Sharma (Rs 16 cr), Jasprit Bumrah (Rs 12 cr), Suryakumar Yadav (Rs 8 cr), Kieron Pollard (Rs 6 cr). Purse remaining for MI: Rs 48 crores.
Punjab Kings: Mayank Agarwal (Rs 12 cr, 14 cr to be deducted from purse)
, Arshdeep Singh (Rs 4 cr). Purse remaining for PBKS: Rs 72 crores.
Sunrisers Hyderabad: Kane Williamson (Rs 14 cr), Abdul Samad (Rs 4 cr), Umran Malik (Rs 4 cr). Purse remaining for SRH: Rs 68 crores.
Chennai Super Kings: , Ravindra Jadeja (Rs 16 cr), MS Dhoni (Rs 12 cr), Moeen Ali (Rs 8 cr), Ruturaj Gaikwad (Rs 6 cr). Purse remaining for CSK: 48 crores.
Delhi Capitals: Rishabh Pant (Rs 16 cr), Axar Patel (Rs 9 cr, 12 cr to be deducted from purse), Prithvi Shaw (Rs 7.5, 8 cr to be deducted from purse cr), Anrich Nortje (Rs 6.5 cr). Purse remaining for DC: Rs 47.5 crores
Kolkata Knight Riders: Andre Russell (12 cr, 16 crore to be deducted from purse), Varun Chakravarthy (8 cr, 12 crore to be deducted from purse), Venkatesh Iyer (8 crore), Sunil Narine (6 crore) Purse remaining for KKR: Rs 48 crores
Rajasthan Royals: Sanju Samson (Rs 14 cr), Jos Buttler (Rs 10 cr), Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rs 4cr). Purse remaining for RR: 62 crores
Note: If the League Fee agreed with a Retained Player exceeds the relevant prescribed amount, then an amount equal to that higher League Fee shall be deducted from the relevant Franchisee's Salary Cap. If the League Fee agreed with a Retained Player is less than the relevant prescribed amount, then an amount equal to the relevant prescribed amount shall be deducted from the relevant Franchisee's Salary Cap.
