TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has issued a stern warning to all hoteliers and fast-food joints owners of suspending their trade licenses if they continue to supply substandard, unhygienic and stale food to the devotees on a pilgrimage to Tirumala.
Addressing a meeting with the representatives of various hotels and eateries at Tirumala on Tuesday,
TTD EO J Syamala Rao pointed out that numerous complaints regarding unhygienic food being provided to the devotees at various eateries at Tirumala, has been received by the temple administration over the last couple of months in particular.
"Taking a serious note of a similar complaint, TTD suspended the trade license of a hotelier recently and the eatery was also shut down as the temple trust will exhibit no leniency when it comes to dealing with issues related to public health and pilgrims safety", Syamala Rao asserted.
The TTD administration has assured to the hoteliers that officials and experts from food safety departments will guide them with regards to the food safety standards to be adopted at all eateries at Tirumala.
Meanwhile, accompanied by additional EO CH Venkaiah Chowdary, TTD EO inspected the pilgrim waiting halls and queue lines at Narayana giri at Tirumala on Tuesday.
