Sule: Govt put a value of ₹1,500 on brother-sister relationship
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule on Wednesday said state govt has put a value of Rs 1,500 on the sacred brother-sister relationship.
“I wonder about the timing of the Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme. All of a sudden, all the sisters have become dear to this govt... only after the Lok Sabha results. This govt does not know the difference between a relationship and a business.

In any relationship, there is trust and love, while in business there is only money,” she said.
Referring to Mahayuti’s Amravati MLA Ravi Rana and Kopargaon MLA Mahesh Shinde’s statements — that if votes were not given to them, money given under Ladki Bahin scheme will be taken back — Sule challenged state govt to take back the money from even a single woman.
“A sister doesn’t love her brother for Rs 1,500. She loves her brother from the bottom of her heart and in such a relationship, there is no question of money. If the brother would have asked, I would have given up everything — the party, the party symbol or anything else,” she said. Just because they sold themselves for ‘Pannas Khoke’ (Rs 50 crore), people in govt think that even women in the state will fall into their Rs 1,500 trap, she added.
Without naming her estranged cousin and deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Sule said had her brother asked with love, she would have given up the party as well as the party symbol. Raising questions on the misuse of central law agencies, the MP said she will never bend or bow her head before the ‘Delhi Sarkar’.
Sule, who is touring the state as a part of Shivswarajya Yatra, made these statements during her public address in Dharashiv. Earlier in the morning, Maratha activists gathered at the hotel where Sule was staying. She met with the activists. Talking to reporters, Sule said as she or her party is not in govt, she was not in a position to comment or commitments on the Maratha reservation.
