Panchkula: Ahead of the Oct 5 assembly elections, the static surveillance and flying squad teams here on Wednesday were trained on various aspects for smooth and peaceful polling.
The training was conducted at the auditorium of the mini-secretariat, Sector 1. During the training, the city magistrate and deputy district election officer, Vishwa Nath, gave proper guidelines to the team members.
Vishwa Nath said various teams of the district administration were working actively to ensure adherence to the model code of conduct.
He said free, fair and transparent elections were important for democracy. The district administration and election department is ready to conduct the elections in a completely transparent and peaceful manner as in both the assembly constituencies of the district, he said. TNN
