Chandigarh: Alleging that branches concerned of the Chandigarh municipal corporation are not supplying information to him as asked, mayor Kuldeep Kumar has written to the municipal commissioner, asking him to look into the matter and ensure timely replies of all the questions.
The issue was raised during the last monthly house meeting too by some councillors.
The mayor has also forwarded this copy of letter to the secretary local bodies of the Chandigarh administration.
“I am writing with great regret that neither have I received any reply to the note yet, nor has any official contacted me to explain why they are delaying the reply. It is a clear violation of Section 38(6) of Municipal Corporation Act, 1976. Keeping in view above, it is again requested that the asked information be provided as early as possible and action should be taken as per rule against the officer for delaying the reply,” the mayor wrote to commissioner.
The mayor had sought replies related to action taken reports on various issues, appointment of 7,175 outsourced employees on more than double the sanctioned 3,205 posts, appointment of statistical assistant on outsource basis by relaxing the service rule. tnn
