Panaji: Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna, (PCCE) and Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao, (AITD) have signed a memorandum of understanding with Garuda Aerospace, Chennai, a drone technology company, for several key initiatives, including setting up of two centres of excellence (CoE) at the PCCE and AITD campuses.
The CoEs will be equipped with drones, simulation tools, maintenance equipment and training modules.
The
MoU will foster a strategic collaboration for curriculum development, training programmes, workshops, hackathons, research, internship and placement, a college official said.
Garuda Aerospace is known for its innovation and excellence in developing advanced aerial systems and has approval of the directorate general of civil aviation .
The chief executive officer of Garuda Aerospace, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, said they were looking forward to manufacturing more ‘Make-in-India drones’, and positioning India as the global drone hub by 2030.”
Rev Fr Agnelo Gomes, director of the AITD, said
their students will be exposed to the latest developments in drone technology, which was not possible unless they are enrolled at a technology institute outside the state.
