Trio kill man, bid to pass it off as suicide

Hyderabad: More than 10 days after a man had ‘died by suicide’, Gachibowli police arrested three persons after concluding that it was a murder and not suicide. The prime accused happened to be the brother-in-law of the victim, who conspired to kill the latter to cover the financial losses he suffered in betting.
Gachibowli police said they arrested G Srikanth, who runs a private hostel, along with P Anand and A Venkatesh.Srikanth hired the other two accused to kill the victim, M Yashwanth, 25, by paying 10 lakh.
Srikanth suffered 3 crore loss by placing bets on online cockfights and conspired to kill Yashwanth so that the property in the name of his father would come to the former’s wife.
On Sept 2, Anand and Venkatesh allegedly strangled Yashwanth to death & hanged him to portray it as a suicide. Yashwanth’s kin suspected foul-play and lodged a complaint with Gachibowli cops who during probe found it was Srikanthwho killed Yashwanth. tnn
