Imphal: A fire destroyed three houses abandoned by families of a community owing to the strife at New Lambulane in
Imphal East district around 9pm on Thursday. The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained. In view of the current state of law and order, security personnel used tear gas shells to disperse people who were attempting to reach the scene of the fire.
Fire service personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. TNN

The incident was reported by K Sarojkumar Sharma. Despite undergoing emergency surgery, Lamyanba succumbed to his injuries at around 10.30 pm. The deceased's father expressed his decision to hand over the body to the people of Manipur, considering his sacrifice for the motherland. In response to the incident, CM N Biren Singh announced that a delegation would visit Delhi to discuss the matter with central leadership.
