Manipur village guard gunned down by unidentified men
Kadangband has consistently experienced violence since the onset of ethnic strife on May 3
IMPHAL: Unidentified individuals shot and killed a village guard in Kadangband, located in Manipur's Imphal West district, around 3:30am on Saturday morning.
The deceased, identified as Jamesbond Ningombam, was on duty guarding the village when suspected militants from a nearby hill shot and killed him, as reported by the police.
Ningbom's body was transported to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences for post-mortem, as confirmed by the police.

Situated on the outskirts of the Imphal West district, Kadangband shares its boundary with Kangpokpi district, which has been consistently marred by violence since the onset of ethnic strife on May 3.
