Indore: Heavy rainfall in Vadodara has led to disruption in train services, affecting passengers travelling to and from Indore.
The Avantika Express, which departed from Mumbai to Indore on Tuesday, was delayed by almost 10 hours due to waterlogging on tracks in Vadodara.
“The primary cause of these disruptions is waterlogging at Bridge 561 in the Vadodara division, affecting train operations in the region,” Ratlam railway division PRO Khemraj Meena said.
“A special train was scheduled to depart from Indore to Pune at 11.15 am on Wednesday. Several passengers had already arrived at the station to board the train when the railway authorities announced its cancellation,” he said. Passenger travelling to Delhi, Amritsar and beyond from Indore will also have to face a tough time in September too as several trains from Indore like Malwa Express, Indore-New Delhi Intercity, and Indore-Amritsar Express, would remain cancelled due to construction work at Palwal station of the Northern Railway.
As per the information from Ratlam division, Malwa Express running between Mhow and Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will remain cancelled from Sept 4 to 16 and the train from Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Mhow will remain cancelled from Sept 6 to 18.

Indore-New Delhi Express remains cancelled on Sept 6, 8, 11, 13, and 15, while New Delhi-Indore Express will not run on Sept 7, 9, 12, 14, and 16.
