Exhibition to commemorate horrors of Partition
Kanpur: The philately bureau of the General Post Office (GPO) in Kanpur organized an exhibition titled "Vibhan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas" at its premises on Wednesday. The event was held in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement made in 2021 to observe August 14 every year as "Vibhan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas," a day to commemorate the horrors of the partition.

The exhibition featured artists who skillfully portrayed the agony and anguish endured by those affected by the partition.
Siddheshwar Kumar, chief postmaster of GPO, graced the occasion as the special guest, along with Dharam Prakash Gupta, general manager of Omar Vaishya Vidyalaya Committee, Tribhuvan Chandra Jain, general secretary of Kanpur Jain Samaj, YK Agarwal, a renowned senior philatelist, Ravi Kumar, PN Gupta, and Dependra Shukla, the deputy postmaster. The guests shared their profound thoughts and reflections on the tragic events surrounding the partition.
