Kanpur: The families of the inmates lodged in the district jail were urged to instal the national flag at their respective residences on the occasion of
Independence Day as a part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative. They were also given a sapling each of the Ashoka tree under the plantation drive held to celebrate I-Day.
ADJ/Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Farrukhabad, Sanjay Kumar extended an invitation to the families of the jail inmates to instal the tricolour.
Jail Superintendent Bhimsen Mukund said that under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga campaign’ the visitors were asked to adorn the prisoners’ residences with the tricolour. The tricolours flags have been stitched by the jail inmates, and the saplings provided to the visitors were also nurtured in the jail’s nursery.
A tricolour procession was also orchestrated for all the visiting officers and employees within the jail premises. The procession was inaugurated by Sanjay Kumar. The Tiranga Yatra commenced from the jail, with each visitor being bestowed with one tricolour and a sapling. Jailer Girish Kumar, deputy jailers Vaibhav Kushwaha, Mukesh Gaur, Omprakash, Saroj Devi, Krishna Kumari, head jail border Lajjaram, Ajab Singh, Jail Border Sanjay Singh, Sonu, Gaurav, Ankit, Shahrukh, Sachin, Vikas, and Neeraj played pivotal roles in organising the yatra.
Women Jail warders Rohini, Priyanka, Nagma, Jolie, Manisha, Hemlata, and Sarita Siyadulari provided invaluable cooperation in the endeavour.
