Cons create fake e-mail ac/t of KGMU VC, request money

Lucknow: An FIR was registered at the Chowk police station after several faculty members of the King George's Medical University (KGMU) received an email from a fake account of vice-chancellor.
Chief proctor of KGMU Dr Kshitij Srivastava said the email requested money from several faculty members. A copy of the fake email has been attached to the complaint.
The complaint requests the registration of an FIR and necessary action against the perpetrators involved in the scam, he said.
ACP, Chowk, Raj Kumar Singh, said an FIR under the charges of the IT Act has been lodged and the cyber cell has been roped in to trace the IP address of the sender of the fake email.
