LU teachers, students conduct convocation rehearsal
Lucknow: Lucknow University meritorious students and teachers on Saturday conducted rehearsal for the convocation ceremony to be held on Monday. Teachers performed the role of chancellor, education minister, and other officials on the occasion.
The rehearsals began with shobha yatra of LU professors, followed by a medal distribution, and concluded with the announcement of a group photograph for the professors.

Director of LU's Sanskritiki board, Prof Anchal Srivastava, acted as the chancellor and governor Anandiben while social work department's teacher, Prof DK Singh, played the role of higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyaya. Prof Kamal Kumar from the public administration department represented the chief guest, Padma Bhushan Dr Vijay Pandurang Bhatkar, the architect of India's national initiative in supercomputing, where he led the development of Param supercomputers.
Prof Sangeeta Sahu from the zoology department took on the role of minister of state for higher education, Rajni Tiwari, and Prof Arvind Mohan from the economics department portrayed Honoris Causa recipient space scientist Nilesh M Desai, who is serving as the director of the Space Applications Centre.
"The rehearsal covered all aspects of the ceremony, including the professors' procession, the entry and seating of guests, and the procedures of honouring students. We wanted the special day of our students to be perfect and without any confusion, hence today's rehearsal was like the actual convocation ceremony day," said LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava.
