MP man robs chowkidar of Rs 20K, held
Lucknow: Villagers nabbed a robber when he, along with his aide, was fleeing after looting Rs 20,000 from a chowkidar posted at Nigohan police station late Friday.
His aide succeeded in fleeing the scene with the money. A case has been registered against the two on the complaint of chowkidar Garibe Kumar.
Kumar, a resident of Madakheda told police that he had gone to buy vegetables in the market of Madapur temple on Friday night.
When he bent down to buy vegetables, a miscreant took out Rs 20,000 from the pocket of his kurta and gave it to his partner, who was standing nearby on a bike. The villagers caught Mukesh Kapoor of Madhya Pradesh and beat him up before handing him over to the police.
Police station in-charge Anuj Kumar Tiwari said on the complaint of the victim, a case of theft had been registered against two miscreants and police teams were engaged in searching for the absconding miscreant.
Kapoor lives in a temporary hut in the Buddheshwar area and has committed several incidents of robbery along with his partner in the past.
