Ludhiana: Ahead of the implementation of the 24x7 canal water project, the MC has launched a social audit of services being provided to the general public. The audit is being done in digital mode, with people being asked to respond accordingly. Plans will be made to improve the services on the basis of the audit result. World Bank guidelines are being followed for the survey, which is being done by the private company, Ludhiana Urban Water and Waste Water Management Limited.
Under this survey, people are being asked to share their experience about services being provided by the civic body.
Questions are related to water supply, sewage system, street lights, roads, building plans etc. Residents are being asked whether water supply is potable, sewer lines are cleaned on regular basis, roads are in satisfactory condition, if repairs are done regularly and if street lights are functional. They are also being asked if they are satisfied with the process of birth and death certificate issuance and whether building plans are approved without hassle.
Residents participating in the survey and officials claimed that in a few days, more than 5,000 people submitted their response. TNN
