Two held for stone pelting on MLC Ivan D’Souza’s House in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City police have arrested two persons in connection with the recent incident of stone-pelting at the residence of MLC Ivan D'Souza.
City police commissioner Anupam Agrawal said that the arrested are Bharat alias Yakshith, 24, and Dinesh Kurthamogeru, 20. Bharat, from Bolantoor village, Bantwal taluk, is a driver and has three prior assault cases against him.

Dinesh, from Kolnadu village, Bantwal taluk, is in finance collection at Kanyana and has one prior case of assault.
Following the incident, an FIR was registered at Mangaluru South police station. A special investigation team was formed under the leadership of ACP central sub-division Pratap Singh Thorat to arrest the accused. The team worked diligently, reviewing CCTV footage, verifying vehicle details and gathering information from eyewitnesses, the commissioner said.
Further, he said that during interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, citing anger over the statements made by MLC D'Souza as the motive behind their actions. They revealed that after having dinner at Fish Crown Hotel around 9.30pm, they impulsively decided to throw stones at the house of D'Souza.
Further investigations, including the verification of their movements through CCTV footage and mobile records, have independently confirmed their involvement in the incident. The investigation is going on, and appropriate legal action is being taken, Agrawal added.
