Cops crack South Mumbai bizman’s burglary case; thief who stole valuables worth Rs 35 lakh arrested

Tardeo police arrested Ezaz Ahmed Choudhary for stealing gold and valuables worth Rs 35 lakh from a South Mumbai businessman's home, using CCTV footage and ATM records to track him down.
MUMBAI: The Tardeo police have successfully solved a house breaking case and apprehended the primary suspect who burgled a South Mumbai businessman's residence and stole gold ornaments and other valuables worth approximately Rs 35 lakh. The arrest was made on Sunday with the assistance of CCTV footage and an ATM machine from which the accused withdrew money.
The arrested individual, identified as Ezaz Ahmed Choudhary (34), is a notorious house breaker with five prior offenses registered against him and his gang at various police stations, including Vashi in Navi Mumbai, VP Road, and Manpada in Thane.

Police have recovered gold worth Rs 5.50 lakh from him.
The incident occurred on July 31, when businessman Raju Shetty filed a complaint stating that unknown individuals had broken into his flat in Sonawala compound, Tardeo, while he and his family were away from city. The burglars escaped with gold ornaments and cash totaling Rs 35.4 lakh. On examining CCTV footage from the area and a nearby ATM, police discovered Ezaz Choudhary's presence in the vicinity.
Further investigation of the CCTV footage at CST railway station revealed Ezaz boarding a train from CST. Police then apprehended and interrogated him, and although he initially denied involvement, sustained questioning led him to confess and reveal the names of his accomplices: Suraj Ashish Singh alias Batka Suraj, Aslam alias Manish Pandey, and Ankush Jadhav. Ezaz also disclosed the names of two individuals, Kiran Sawant and Akshay Yadav, to whom they sold the stolen goods in South Mumbai. Police have summoned all suspects for questioning.
