Patna: The semi-high-speed Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat Express (20893/20894, 21893/21894), introduced on September 15, has now started running on two routes. The premier train, which runs six days a week, runs four days via Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Gomoh-Parasnath-Koderma-Gaya route on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays while it runs via Barkakana-Daltonganj-Garhwa Road-Gaya route from Tatanagar on Sundays and from Patna Junction on Mondays.
According to the recent railway notification, the Vande Bharat Express running via the Gomoh-Parasnath-Koderma route is covering a distance of 451km from Tatanagar to Patna in 7 hours and 15 minutes having stoppages at Chandil, Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Gomoh, Parasnath, Koderma and Gaya.
The train leaves Tatanagar at 5.30am and reaches Patna at 12.45pm. On its return journey, it leaves Patna at 2.15pm and reaches Tatanagar at 9.30pm.
However, the train, running with a load composition of eight coaches, covers a distance of 642km from Tatanagar to Patna in about 10 hours and 25 minutes via the Barkakana-Daltonganj route with stoppages at Chandil, Muri, Barakakana, Daltonganj, Garhwa Road, Son Nagar and Gaya. It leaves Tatanagar at 5.30am and reaches Patna at 3.55pm on Sunday. On its return journey, it leaves Patna on Monday at 1.20pm and reaches Tatanagar at 11.55pm, sources said.
According to Danapur divisional railway manager Jayant Kumar Choudhary, efforts are being taken to fulfill the demands of passengers. “The Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat has evoked good response so far,” he said.
Danapur senior divisional commercial manager Abhinav Siddarth said Vande Bharat offers day journeys with air-conditioned coaches. “The indigenously manufactured Vande Bharat has world-class features like a GPS-based passenger information system, automatic sliding doors, reclining seats, CCTV cameras, LED lighting and charging points,” he said.
