Surat and Ahmedabad have experienced a rise in night temperatures of 1.94 degrees and 1.9 degrees Celsius, respectively, from 2000 to 2023. This rise in temperatures is attributed to the surface urban heat island effect, which causes cities to become warmer than their surrounding areas.
