‘Teacher-student relationship extends beyond imparting edu’
Ranchi: Schools in Ranchi celebrated Teachers' Day with great zeal and enthusiasm, paying tribute to their educators through vibrant programmes and heartfelt expressions of gratitude. Students and staff collaborated to organize cultural events, speeches, and performances that showcased their appreciation for their teachers' hard work and dedication.
At Oxford Public School, the event highlighted the significance of Teachers' Day and Swami Vivekananda's views on education.

The school presented gifts to teachers and also organised a speech and a dance performance. The celebrations included the administration of a cleanliness pledge and emphasized the role of teachers in nation-building. The festivities concluded with a traditional Nagpuri Dance and a cake-cutting ceremony.
Delhi Public School, Ranchi, celebrated the day with grandeur, commencing with the lighting of the lamp in honour of Dr Radhakrishnan. The celebration showcased various performances by teachers, including games, dances, and musical acts. Principal R K Jha said, “Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping students' future and reiterated the school's dedication to holistic education.”
Principal S K Mishra of DAV Public School Hehal led the tributes by offering floral respects to Dr Radhakrishnan and addressing the gathering on the importance of instilling moral and intellectual values in students. The event featured cultural programmes and guruvandana performances.
Surendranath Centenary School celebrated the occasion by focusing on expressing gratitude towards teachers through a series of student performances and an address by principal Samita Sinha. She encouraged teachers to embody the 4 As: Availability, Accessibility, Approachability, and Authenticity.
The students of GD Goenka School expressed their gratitude and respect towards their teachers through various cultural programmes. The school’s vice chairman, Aman Singh, emphasized that the guru-shishya tradition encompasses not only the exchange of education and knowledge but also imparting of values, ethics, and spirituality.

Teacher held in MP for raping school student
In Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur district, a government schoolteacher and principal-in-charge named Uday Bhan Singh was arrested for allegedly raping a class 11 student. On the run since August 25, he also forced the girl to consume liquor. Singh had offered to help her with her class 12 registration process.
