Meghalaya CM inaugurates college named after his father
Shillong: Marking a significant milestone in the education sector in the state, CM Conrad K Sangma recently inaugurated the academic session of Rongjeng Model Degree College in East Garo Hills and also announced the official sanction for the Rongjeng Stadium, with a budget of Rs 9.25 crore.
“Late PA Sangma had envisioned this institution in 2013. Unfortunately, it could not be realised during his tenure.

However, when the NPP came to power, the Centre sanctioned two colleges. We acquired land for this college in Rongjeng, fulfilling Late PA Sangma’s dream. I am pleased to announce that this college will be named PA Sangma Rongjeng Model Degree College,” the CM said in reference to his father, who was Lok Sabha speaker and also CM of the state. He said sanctions had been made for the college’s development, including Rs 93 lakh for water supply.
