NEHU students win awards on science day

Shillong: The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) on Tuesday announced the outstanding achievements of its students at the National Science Day Celebration 2024, organised by the State Council of Science Technology and Environment, Meghalaya.
“Nituparna Das, an MSc student at NEHU, secured the first prize in the research poster presentation category,” a varsity statement said.
“In another remarkable feat, two MSc students, Pranjal Sharma and Nituparna Das, clinched the first position in the Eastern Zone Contest of the Anveshan 2023 programme. Their project was Development of Low Power Consumption Artificial Neuromorphic Devices by Using Proton as a Neurotransmitter.” the statement said.

The State Council of Science Technology and Environment observed National Science Day 2024 at the state convention centre in Meghalaya. The event focused on Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat. The Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development also observed the day at Upper Shillong on Wednesday, joining the celebration with Shillong Science Centre and Science Department of Shillong College.

IIT-Roorkee's MSc student missing after canal fall
Ajay Rohitbhai Tabhani, a first-year student from Gujarat at IIT-Roorkee, is missing after falling into the Gangnahar canal. Keval Kumar tried to rescue him but failed. Police are conducting a search and rescue operation at Solani Park.
