Surat: The Federation of Surat Trade and Textile Associations (FOSTTA) has issued a clarification to textile traders that the association does not charge any money from anyone while trying to help traders who are victims of fraud. The announcement came after an extortion racket was busted by an Ambala-based textile trader last week. The Haryana trader was duped for Rs 40,000 by one Kailash Shukla in the name of FOSTTA.
“We do not charge any fees from any trader for helping them in any financial or business dispute. We handle complaints related to cheating between two business parties and also take help from the police if the dispute is not solved. But none of our members charge money for our service,” said Kailash Hakim, president of FOSTTA.
On Saturday last FOSTTA board requested traders to come forward if they were cheated in a similar manner. “Through the app verification, details of a trader will be made available online. A member can check the track record of the other party with whom they are planning to do business,” said a FOSTTA official.tnn
