THANE: Chief minister Eknath Shinde announced that the state government will extend complete financial support, encompassing funds for the reconstruction of the historic Keshavrao Bhosale auditorium, which was ravaged by a devastating fire in Kolhapur city last week.
Shinde made the declaration in Thane after conversing with the Kolhapur municipal commissioner on Friday to commence an investigation into the late-night incident that was reported on Thursday.
The fire consumed a significant portion of the historic auditorium, which was erected several decades ago and named after the legendary theatre singer-actor Keshavrao Bhosale.
"The auditorium holds an illustrious heritage and is associated with numerous eminent artistes from Maharashtra's art and culture sphere. The incident is an immense cultural loss for our state, and we will spare no effort in rebuilding it. Concurrently, we will also initiate an inquiry into the incident, and those found responsible for the incident will not be spared," Shinde affirmed.
