Thiruvananthapuram: The name of the state higher secondary examination board has been corrected on the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) website.
Instead of ‘Board of Higher Secondary Examinations,
Kerala', it was earlier recorded as ‘Kerala Board of Higher Secondary Education' on the COBSE web portal.
The mistake caused severe difficulties for students seeking admission to various universities outside Kerala.
Many colleges under Delhi University had denied admission to students from Kerala on account of this.
Following complaints, the general education department raised the issue with COBSE, and minister V Sivankutty directly contacted COBSE general secretary M C Sharma, seeking the rectification of the data.
