No clarity yet on those who cleared supplementary exams
Vadodara: Despite the intervention of the state education minister, the Vadodara MP and MLAs, there seems to be no end to the problems of students seeking admission to the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) course at MS University’s Faculty of Commerce.
Even as the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has declared the results of the supplementary exams of Class 12, officials of the Faculty of Commerce have not clarified their stand regarding the admission process for such students.

After much controversy during the admission process over the intake of local students, the political leaders had assured that there would be no injustice to students from Vadodara. But even as GSHSEB declared the results of the supplementary exams last week, the faculty has neither started the process nor issued any guidelines for the admission of such students in FY BCom.
On Friday, the faculty was the site of a major row when a student leader reached the main building, questioning the faculty dean on the number of admissions provided to students in FY BCom and the seats that have remained vacant.
The student leader aggressively demanded that the faculty should declare the list of students admitted to the BCom course on the Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS) portal of the state education department. However, the faculty dean asked him to get out of the premises. The heated exchange between the student leader and the faculty dean continued for quite some time.
The student leader alleged that while all the faculties of the university have declared their admission schedule for students who have cleared their supplementary exams, officials of the Faculty of Commerce want the seats at private colleges to get filled.
