Extended central library at BHU, cyber hut at MMV inaugurated
Varanasi: The 78th Independence Day marked a series of beginnings at Banaras Hindu University as vice-chancellor Prof Sudhir Kumar Jain inaugurated several student-centric initiatives designed to directly benefit the university's students.
The VC inaugurated the newly established cyber Hut at the Mahila Mahavidyalaya. The cyber ht will serve as a focal point for women's empowerment at MMV, aligning with the vice chancellor's vision to foster technological literacy among female students.

The presence of this dedicated space, equipped with over 30 computers and a high-speed LAN connection, will provide students with the opportunity to cultivate the essential skills required in today's digital landscape.
The VC also inaugurated a comprehensive, well-equipped counselling cell at MMV, signifying a significant milestone in the university's ongoing efforts to prioritize student well-being and facilitate their holistic development. Two SRK Fellows, Palak Mishra and Anchal Seth, have already been appointed to MMV as counsellors. They will work as agents of change to bring positivity to the entire scenario by employing creative methods to engage with students, including student counseling.
Later, while interacting with the faculty members of Mahila Mahavidyalaya, the vice-chancellor emphasized that the college possesses immense potential and ability, and is in no way inferior to any other institute or faculty of the university. He highlighted the university's efforts to empower and strengthen the college by allocating additional funds and granting greater decision-making authority. He assured that funds would not be an obstacle in developing student amenities and providing them with a positive campus experience.
He also dedicated the extended library to the students, which now offers an additional 600 seating capacity. Addressing the students after the inauguration of the facility, Prof Jain emphasized that the university is continuously working on the optimal utilization of space and resources to ensure that the true beneficiaries are not deprived of what they rightfully deserve. He stated that the extension of the library exemplifies how the university can prioritize matters and address the challenges that students have been facing. He encouraged students to make the most of the infrastructure provided to them by the university and strive for excellence.
