Vijayawada: Due to incessant rains in Telangana and AP and the huge discharge of flood water from upstream, the railway track is affected at several locations across the South Central Railway network. The inundation of the track between Kesamudram - Intekanne, Tadla Pusapalli - Mahabubabad, and at Rayanapdu railway station has resulted in cancellation and diversion of train services.
Emergency control rooms have been opened at SCR HQ-Rail Nilayam / Secunderabad and also at the divisional offices of Secunderabad, Guntur, and Vijayawada. The control rooms have been manned round the clock by a multi-disciplinary team of senior officers. Senior officials from Vijayawada division are regularly monitoring the situation at Rayanapadu.
In view of this, over 100 trains have been fully cancelled, and five trains were partially cancelled to avoid any further congestion on the section. 49 trains have been diverted. For the trains which are cancelled, a full refund of fare is automatically granted to the passengers who booked tickets online through IRCTC.
