Back in 2022, Diljit Dosanjh during his Vancouver concert, had a digital banner reading 'this show is dedicated to our brothers' in the background. He addressed the moment when Sidhu's father took off his turban during his son's funeral, Diljit said, "Bapu don't take off your turban, we respect it a lot." In his performance, Diljit gave a message of unity, he said "All the Punjabi community should come together and be one, we should not raise fingers at each other. There are many who will try to divide us."
He further dedicated a line of his song to Sidhu and sang, “ Moosewala naam dilla ute likheya, khasa jor lag ju mitaun vaste (Moosewala's name is written on the heart, it would not be easy to erase the same.)
“This is a message for those who are trying to divide us. It will require an impossible effort to erase this name from the heart," he added.

As soon as Diljit Dosanjh took Sidhu’s name, he touched many hearts instantly. When the video of the same was shared online, netizens applauded Diljit for his gesture. A fan wrote, "Huge respect to you younger brother to appeal for Sidhu Moose Wala," while another one commented, "Very good, Sidhu bhai deserves this. He did a lot for the Punjabi community. Now it’s the Punjabi community's turn to remember him as a legend. Legends never die."
For the unversed, Sidhu Moose Wala was mercilessly assassinated in Mansa, Punjab, in 2022. His family is constantly working towards seeking justice for their son and the investigation is still in process.
