Netrani islandLocated off the coast of Karnataka, Netrani Island, also known as Pigeon Island, is a secluded paradise for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. Majuli IslandMajuli in
Assam is one of the largest river islands in the world and boasts of cultural richness. Mostly inhabited by tribals, this lesser-known island is also known for its local cuisine, picturesque landscapes, and the famous Raas Mahotsav which is an unmissable event here.
How to reach: Reach Jorhat by rail or air, take a bus/ taxi to Neemati Ghat and a ferry to Majuli from there

Grand IslandAlso known as Ilha Island, this offbeat destination is located 1 km off the natural harbour of Vasco da Gama in Goa and is famous for scuba diving, snorkelling, dolphin sighting and more. It’s also known for shipwreck dive sites like Suzy’s Wreck, Sailing Rock and Davy Jones Locker. However, since the island officially belongs to the Indian Navy, you can only access it during the day.

St. Mary’s IslandCoconut trees, azure waters and unique basaltic rock formations—that’s St. Mary’s Island for you. The island is located off the Malpe coast of Udupi in Karnataka and is said to be where the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama landed in 1498 before moving on to Calicut. A hidden jewel for travellers to explore and unwind, St. Mary’s Island finds a place among the National Geoheritage Monuments of India too.
How to reach: Reach Malpe Beach and take a ferry from there or from the fishing harbour nearby.

Havelock IslandLocated amid the clear blue waters of the Andamans, Havelock Island boasts of white sand beaches, colourful corals, and cosy resorts. Travellers can explore activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking amid mangroves, hiking, surfing, parasailing and more. The island is also known for its vibrant nightlife which makes it a must-visit for tourists.
