Ajmer: Government Railway Police (GRP) rescued within eight hours a 4-year-old girl who was kidnapped from Ajmer railway station on Tuesday. The girl was recovered from Sabarmati railway station in Gujarat and the kidnapper was arrested.
GRP SP Rammurti Joshi said the rescued girl was handed over to her mother.
Joshi said a woman with her 4-year-old daughter had come to Ajmer from Abu Road to offer prayers at the dargah.
They were waiting at platform number 1 for the train back home when an unknown person approached the woman and her daughter and started talking to them. “He offered some snacks and biscuits to the girl to become friendly with them. At about 9.30pm, when the mother was busy checking the train schedule, the accused kidnapped the girl and fled. At 10pm on Tuesday, the mother panicked and informed an RPF constable about her daughter’s kidnapping,” Joshi said.
