TIRUPATI: Addressing roadshows and meetings along with Dr VM Thomas, who is the TDP candidate for the GD Nellore assembly constituency (SC), Daggumalla Prasad Rao urged the voters to introspect whether the constituency saw even a single development project in the last decade when deputy Chief minister K Narayanaswamy got elected twice as the legislator of GD Nellore, and now he wants you to vote for his daughter, after literally doing nothing for the constituency.
This SC reserved assembly constituency is witnessing a keen contest between two first timers. While the YSRCP has fielded K Krupa Lakshmi, daughter of the deputy CM, who stepped down to allow his daughter to make her political debut, the TDP fielded Dr VM Thomas, chairman of Chennai fertility center.
"This assembly constituency bordering Tamil Nadu, is reeling under the impact of extreme backwardness. As the employment opportunities are scanty, youngsters are forced to migrate to the neighbouring states in search of jobs", Daggumalla Prasad Rao lamented.
Dr VM Thomas promised to the voters that he would strive for the comprehensive development of the constituency if he gets elected as an MLA.
"With the support of former Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, we will bring industries to this constituency, to foster growth and generate employment opportunities", Dr Thomas asserted.
Pointing out that the TDP will also dole out various welfare schemes generously in the next five years, Dr VM Thomas asked voters to take note that the TDP will provide pensions to the people belonging to the SC, ST, BC and minorities from the age of 50 years itself.
