Government will conduct deeper probe into use of Animal fats in Tirupati Laddus during YSRCP regime: Minister Nara Lokesh
TIRUPATI: State minister Nara Lokesh reaffirmed that the TDP led NDA govt will conduct a deeper investigation into the adulteration of ghee with animal fats used in the preparation of the highly venerated Tirupati laddus during the YSRCP regime.
Speaking to reporters at Tirupati on Thursday, Lokesh found fault with the rebuttal of YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP and former TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy over the issue and questioned Subba Reddy to clarify why the Karnataka milk federation, which was supplying quality ghee to the TTD, was shunt out of the supply chain in order to accommodate the suppliers preferred by the then ruling party leaders.

"The investigating officials have been given a freehand and will get to the bottom of this racket", the minister asserted.
"It is a great sin that the YSRCP regime committed by allowing the usage of ghee adulterated with animal fats and substandard raw materials in the preparation of the world renowned Tirupati Laddus. There was a deterioration in the quality, taste and texture of Laddus and Annaprasadams as well and several pilgrims had even complained about this. It is unfortunate that the YSRCP leaders are still trying to defend their acts even after the lab reports have confirmed the presence of animal fats in the ghee supplied to the TTD during their regime", Lokesh lamented.
Pointing out to the reporters that the NDA govt has already launched a vigilance investigation into all the corruption and misdeeds reported in the TTD during the YSRCP regime, the state education minister underlined that revenue recovery act will be enforced on the corrupt officials who were hand in glove with the previous regime.
"We have given a free hand to the TTD administration to streamline the affairs in the Tirupati trust in line with the sentiments of the devotees of Lord Venkateswara and will be ensuring that the sanctity and the serenity of the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara will be restored in all its glory soon", Lokesh asserted.
