Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams warns hoteliers over supply of substandard food

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has issued warnings to hotels and fast-food joints about serving substandard, unhygienic food to devotees. TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has said that licences of hotels and fast-food joints would be suspended if they continue to supply substandard, unhygienic and stale food to devotees.
Addressing a meeting with representatives of hotels and eateries at Tirumala on Tuesday, TTD EO J Syamala Rao said there were many complaints regarding unhygienic food at eateries in Tirumala.

"TTD suspended the trade licence of a hotelier recently and the eatery was shut down", said the EO.
The TTD administration has assured the hoteliers that officials and experts from food safety departments will guide them with regards to food safety standards to be adopted at all eateries at Tirumala.
The EO and additional EO CH Venkaiah Chowdary inspected waiting halls and queue lines at Narayana giri at Tirumala on Tuesday.
The TTD officials also inspected the central reception office and interacted with devotees and took their feedback on darshan, accommodation and other amenities being provided to them.
