TIRUPATI: In a recent development, YS Sharmila, the chief of the
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, sent a radio as a gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to pay attention to the "
Mann ki baat" of the people of Andhra Pradesh. Sharmila accused the BJP-led NDA government at the center of completely neglecting the state's interests and released a chargesheet to support her claims.
According to Sharmila, "Not a single promise in the AP reorganization Act was fulfilled by the
BJP in the last ten years".
She questioned the BJP's stance on various issues, including their alleged U-turn on supporting special category status for Andhra Pradesh, their failure to intervene when the YSRCP government resorted to reverse tendering and hindered the Polavaram project, and the lack of progress in realizing the capital dreams of Amaravati, despite the Prime Minister attending the foundation stone laying ceremony.
Furthermore, Sharmila raised concerns about the Prime Minister's accusations against the Andhra Pradesh CM for allegedly opening his own liquor syndicate. She questioned, "Why no action on him when you have arrested the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal". The APCC Chief also criticized the union government for attempting to privatize the Visakha steel plant and for not making any progress on the Kadapa steel plant.
